This seminar explores vocabulary teaching and learning in the EFL classroom from a cognitive perspective. Students engage with theoretical models of word knowledge and the mental lexicon, examine empirical findings on lexical development, and discuss the role of vocabulary in overall language proficiency. Building on these foundations, participants critically analyse teaching materials and design research-informed vocabulary tasks that support effective and sustainable lexical learning.
