A milestone of modern physics is the Boltzmann equation. Formulated in 1872, it still is--with some modifications--the central equation for the description of irreversible processes in classical as well as quantum many particle systems. To pay tribute to this extraordinary marvel of theoretical physics, and to learn how to solve it, is the purpose of this lecture. Everybody interested in Boltzmann transport is welcome, especially however master students with the specializations A and C. To fix time and location we will meet on Mo April 13 at 2 pm in room A 302 of the Institute of Physics. |
