| Description |
Life as we experience it on a daily basis, be it in person or covered by the media, offers a plethora of fascinating topics that require and/or provide us with an opportunity for critical thinking and forming more complex opinions than yes or no. This course hopes to expand students' vocabulary by diving into a variety of contemporary (cultural) issues and thus improve their ability to critically examine and discuss issues from around the world in more advanced English. This course aims to prepare you for the "Discussion" part of the Oral skills exam but will also share tips on how to give effective presentations. Our weekly meeting is also a great chance to engange in more formal conversations in English that go beyond your seminars (and individual small talk). Requirement: Students who enroll in this course ought to be willing to speak in small and larger groups and share their opinions freely and respectfully. |
