Classroom management describes the way teachers manage students’ learning by either actively controlling and organising what’s going on in the classroom or consciously refraining from doing so – handing over responsibility and control to the learners themselves (Scrivener 2012).
Our primary objective of the course is to increase your proficiency in classroom management skills, allowing for a better understanding of which factors influence individual and group behaviour and discussing ways to create an engaging, communicative learning environment. Topics that will be covered include: giving instructions, using the board, voice & posture, managing time & space, handling feedback, dealing with behavioural problems, facilitating interaction, and fostering a productive classroom community.
