Dear students,
I got the information that there a still uncertainties how you organize your lab course (practical course) in the module CM1.
The practical course has 4 SWS which means you have to stay in the lab of one of the CM1 lecturers for at least 10 days (60 hours) or even more, if you like and the supervisors also agrees. Because the class consists this year of only 8 (9) students you are also able to ask another lecturer and have an additional practical course,, if you wish and have time. In CM1 the flexibility for the course is quite high, because you can manage your stay in the lab during the lecture time or after the lectures, meaning in February or March. Important: you have to provide a protocol of you lab stay and experiments done during the lab work. The protocol has to be organized as follow:
- Title page with Name etc., Title of the project you have worked on and Institution
- Content of the protocol
- Short Summary
- Introduction
- Results and Discussion
- References
- Appendix (if necessary)
How can you organize your practical lab course:
- Select one of the lecturer´s Institutions and contact the lecturer by Email informing her/him that you would like to conduct the practical course of the module CM1 in the lab
- Discuss a date/period with the lecturer by phone/video conference/personal visit
- Prior to your stay in the lab it might be possible to visit the Institution / laboratories
- The supervisor/lecturer provides finally a written certificate that you have done the practical lab course
- The protocol has to be checked by the supervisor/lecturer and
- The protocol has to be provided to the responsible module teacher
