Description |
In this course we will discuss prominent theories of cognitive control that explain goal-directed behavior. We will focus a) on challenges and deficits in cognitive control regulations that are prevalent with increasing age and b) on dysfunctional control regulations in neuropsychiatric disorders (e.g., OCD, eating disorders). Subsequently, we ask how adaptive control and cognitive functioning in general can be facilitated and enhanced by interventions based on behavioral training, (non-)invasive brain stimulation (tVNS, tDCS, DBS), or pharmacological treatment (e.g., oxytocin). |
