In this course, we want to investigate the field of forensic linguistics. We will find out about different text types and their appropriate styles/registers. Moreover, we will analyse texts according to their phonological, syntactical and lexical features.
At the end of the course, we will have built our own corpus which we can examine with the methods introduced in the seminar. We will also discuss concepts like idiolect, the linguistic fingerprint and the voice parade.
There will also be a crossover session with my colleague’s Power seminar.
