Grenzräume sind Regionen, in denen verschiedene ethnische und gesellschaftliche Gruppen interagieren. Sie stehen insbesondere in Greifswald mit dem Internationalen Graduiertenkolleg „Baltic Borderlands” im Zentrum der Forschung. Das Seminar wird einen Einblick in die neuere Forschung in Europa und Amerika vom ausgehenden Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart bieten.
Borderlands can be understood as places where people meet and interact. This happens all over the world and is right now one of the hot topics of historical research. The seminar will focus on economic, political, social, ethnic, and religious borderlands in Europe and North America from the late Middle Ages until today. |
