As visual texts increasingly shape identity formation and meaning-making, literacy in foreign language education extends beyond printed texts to include multimodal and digital media. This seminar explores the role of visual narratives in English language teaching and examines how multimodal texts such as e.g. picture books, graphic novels, street art, film posters, and commercials can foster intercultural communicative competence and support receptive and productive language skills. The course emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical applications, encouraging participants to design pedagogically grounded activities that integrate visual storytelling into language teaching across different age groups. |
