The seminar ‘Emotion Psychology I’ focuses on key questions and results of current emotion psychology from a general and social psychological perspective. The seminar begins with an overview of the central theories and methods of emotion psychology that seek to clarify how emotions emerge, in what way they may be adaptive, and why and how they can be regulated. This will be followed by a discussion of selected key areas of research in current emotion psychology focusing on discrete emotions.
Note that the course will be taught in English and will require reading and engaging with scientific literature in English.
